Brandi Carilie

Was checking out some of the CD's of 2005 and stumbled onto Brandi carlile and i'm glad i did. Great vocals and lyrics get me and she's got the gift of writing!
"The best thing about Brandi Carlile is that it not only doesn't sound like a debut, it sounds like a record that exists out of time and place — which means it's not only a superb debut, it's a hell of a record by any measure. "
I agree

Scope out her website and see what you think Brandi carlile

For you female viewers out there, if there are! dam i hope so:) you will be feelin Amy i think, she is up beat great lyics and Dam she's got a sweet voice! Brett Dennen

soo chilled out californian, saw this guy down at the Bonaroo Music Festival ... The music hits you right thats all i gotta say, He's got that groovy guitar and straight chilled vocals Now i'm going to go out on a limb and say this might be toooooo chilled out for you hypersters out there ( you know who you are) But for my fellow chilled cats around the block you'll appreciate the quality lyrics while your singing along to your newly found love... Nice music for a trip to the shore, bright sky, hot sun, and brett dennen playin up in your piece you'll be bound for happy times and smiles..... But it could also be just me, I'm happy, smiling and bound for good times, so brett dennen or not i'm straight chillen loving life.... Bonnaroo

Just getting back froma crazy 5 days and i can say i'm glad to be back, living like a dirty hippy is not my style... But all and all it was a good trip, got to see some amazing shows and my man Josh ritter kicked it off on Friday with a great one, best show all weekend i would say would have to be My Morning Jacket, If you have not heard of this band yet, really really take a look into them they are rocking, the band also puts on one of the best live shows going right now, so check them out late JUne up in North Hampton if you can or anyplace around your location... Wanna send out shout outs to my Buddy Will for inviting me to go and My two Buddies from Minnosota Rick and Chris were down to party and thats just what we did, had a real good time with you guys and like you say, " We'll always have Misty" haha... Now i'm ready to crash for a few days so when i get back with it i'll get back with this, until then, Let those Guitars Play......

The Arcade FIre

For those of you out there in the inner cirlce of The Indie rock scene and maybe even a few of you wanna be's out there,,, i know you already know about The Arcade Fire and their huge debue release "Funeral" an expermental Album that kicked some serious ass after giving it an honest shot, It took me awhile to finally warm up to this album i don't really know why, prolly lack of time to actually get into it and give it the time it needed to kick around in my head for awhile, These kids put together one very interesting CD and i can't wait to see them live someday, They are known to put on one great great show! So yes i know i'm late on this album but better late then never i guess, The whole CD is worth a few listens , its one of those CD's that is soo much better if you listen to the whole thing just sit down and let it play let it marinate in your head for awhile and soon when you put it on you'll be shocked about how kick ass this album is! Def needs a few listens too, or you could read the words....... I'll admit the first time i listened to it i didn't like it and put it away not to listen to it again for quite some time, but hey maybe i wasn't feeling it back then......Music hits people differently at different stages in their life, just because i like this CD now doesn't mean your going to like it because maybe you can't relate to it, But i can honestly say i still don't really relate tooo much to This CD but when a band puts something together that is really special you need to appreciate it for what it is and i think thats what they have done here with " Funeral" So give the website a looksy and check um out sometime.. Ryan Adams

I know i know, I thought this was a music site myself, Softball kidnapped me for a sec there, I gotta get back to what this site was MADE FOR, that is some Good Tunes... Now my man Ryan has done it again, If your a fan this CD still might take a few listens too to get use too, its a bit different sounding almost Grateful deadish in some songs but mostly sounding like Whiskeytown and maybe a little heartbreaker, Either way, there are some great tunes on this Double CD that i have really been feeling and i have a feeling its one of those CD's that if you keep listening your going to like more and more songs as time goes by.... Cold Roses is the Name and Americana Music is the Game Ryan who is coming out with a UN heard of 3 Cds this year, Dam i'm ready....... This Cd is def not for all of ya, esp you radio listeners out there, this is a cross between Americana , ALT Country, Country and Def a bit Rock and Roll.... If i didn't already mention it this is a double CD and both have some very good tunes on each, My fave is CD 2 with Dance all night and Let it Ride , Now i thought they were allowing you to stream all the songs on the website but that has been taking down recently But you can hear the first song which is alright right here Follow me

Just Because

The "Just Because" post is whatever i feel like talking about and since this is my blog i can talk about anything, but i'm cool about it, I really wanna talk about something that is going to help my fellow beings.......... So here we go... Sitting at home in front of the tv one day and it dawned on me... "I've been sitting in front of this box for 2 hours now being lazy and learning nothing and really just wasting away.... Thats when i started to notice it, each time the tv is on i'm drawn to it it pulls me in, why do you think they are everywhere you go now adays, its like i go out at night to get away from it all and what do i have when i go to the bar a room full of TVs and everyone just zones out to it, well not everyone, but the Tv def pulls you in like no other.... Now i want to share some writings with you about the tv...

"Smash your tv and walk away go outside and play a game, Pickup a interesting book and learn something new"
Why do you sit at the TV? Its an escape from your mind (our babbling mind) Its a time where you don't have to think, just sit back and take it in. why not do that with life? just relax and take it all in one moment at a time. But say, you do find something your really into on tv, Fine Enjoy it, thats being... But i'm sure most of the time your just sitting there getting dumber and dumber with each stupid commercial that pounds your head- don't get me wrong tv is alright once in awhile, but shit you know you spend way too much time in front of some piece of glass and plastic with a wire out the back, Now adays its the dish zooming you coutless hours of Commerials, stupid Drama shows, pimp my ride And Raymond "whatta nice guy" .... Come on you live your life through these beings they are all just a diestraction from our finally outcome

Death- we are going to die and be sitting in front of a tv, funny how every hospital has TV's in each room.... Death will be here sooner than you know so go find yourself and do a little learning while your here... And please don't be out for just Money, thats not happyness, but thats another conversation.......

The plastic thing with one big eye is alife... Don't let it consume you... Smash it and go live alone and discover what you love, take a picture of what you see, Make a painting of the sky while you say hi. leave your money behind and start to climb up and over that ridge and see one great view. talk to someone new and actually listen! Ask them how they feel when they look up in the sky, or just go lie outside and find a cloud and watch it disappear and let it be a lesson to you to remind you that nothing is permanent, that all you see all you feel ceases. Carry this on in your life apply it to everyting and life will be a bit smoother,,,, cause now your'll know ... Nothing is permanent everything is constantly changing and remind yourself that you are too! and you'll see why its great to live your dreams and take that chance and make up a new dance, follow your heart and follow your gut feelings telling you to go out and get lost in this crazy world because thats one way to learn... Live Life, love life, understand life is always Ceasing............ thus

Joseph Arthur

Amazing, just amazing... Just saw JA up in north hampton and it was amazing to say the least.... This man really is doing something special and people will one day catch on, I throught some of his CD's blew my mind, man seeing him live is like a spirtual awaking, He just gets it and is trying to rely the message onto others, its so simple but yet so many people have a hard time understanding, well understanding isn't the right word because understanding makes you think and use your mind and pulls you away, thats exactly what he is trying not to do, Through his music he brings you back to the NOW, he makes you understand that the mind pulls you in so many directions that your really get no where, If you would just wake up to this moment and just SEE, life would be so much more peaceful and suffering would fall away, Life is suffering, but when you awaken and see everything as it is and not make up stuff in your mind about what you think you see , if you could manage to let go of your pulling mind and just see you would be enlightened on the spot.... Interested??

Mainer Weekend

ANother killer weekend, i told my liver to shut up and drink and i think i left one of my kidneys on the mountain , Whole lotta drinking but a whole lotta love as well:) Had a great time with my good buddy Low low low, Hey lowZon , and met his good pal Greger!~ who i now consider to be a fellow pal as well, can never have too many friends... We hit up the mountain hard on Friday and had a blast, got up there for a half day and got in some good runs, The Real fun came that night, Oh whatta nite, Dancing myself over to some girls room, she invited us in and we blasted down some of her roomys beers and i played on her Virus struck computer.... Can't even get into all the details because they are really just a blur, all i know is I met lindsey and i can care less about the rest, So that night ended with a twist of the shoulder and a stumble to the door with no goodbye... Certain situations you have to let themselves play out and not get involved in, i thought i did a good job that night, i guess steph was right it coulder been a bad scene but i lived to take her out another day:) NExt day, skipped the mountain had breakfast with the crew, you know who you are, The service and beatiful girl sitting next to me were the highlights of that ....... After that we headed back to the ranch and sattled up for our next journey, Few tokes and 4 pichers later we somehow ended up back at Lindseys place, She made a few clutch calls and got us in on a pretty sweet poker game, nice company at the game, but i guess i will never learn my lesson to NOT drink while Playing POKER!!!!! i need to just ram that into my head, I'll brag, I'm a good poker player and damit i shoulda been playing for that pot but i do have one good excuse, There was this girl sitting across from me and i gotta admit she was breaking my concentration, just looking at her sent me off into flowery meadows dancing in the sun with some josh rouse 1972 playin.... So i guess i had that, and that is worth more than any pot of money... Greger took down the Pot!! nice going Buddy!~ If anyone was going to Win that pot i'm glad it was you! I did give him alot of chips to play with, but like i was sayin Drinking and poker do not mix, I took a tough beat but i'm glad it was him i was handing my chips over too..... After that the bar was calling are name, even though i don't remember what happen at the bar, OH well, the afterparty was much better and i found myself a nice bed and even better company to sleep with... Sunday rolled around and it was time to roll back up to the Loaf and Rip it up... And we sure did... Had the Best best weather for skiing and alot of good company around, I headed in the lodge a little earlier than maybe most would, but hey, "I had to see about a girl"... (goodwill hunting) Oh man she was a looker, and her eyes, oh her sweet blue eyes and i love how her hair was soo soo soo straight. Soo cute, sooo cute.... 4 beers later i was almost passeed out but made it home for a quick nap and then off for what we thought was going to be a romantic dinner, turned out to be anyway i guess, little bit?? little bit? Chinese food and wine, and two candles lit, Is that considered romantic, Other than low zons stinking farts i think it was, Just playin buddy! haha So to conclude, Had another super weekend like always, when you kinda just float and go with what life throws ya you usually seem to have a pretty dam good Time, At least thats been my experience.... Take one moment at a time and save yourself from hate and your on your way........... ......

I had a wonderful time with you lindsey and look foward to seeing you again... Oh i had wondeful time with you too Steph and Chris and you know it, Greger... Good times... But some words of wisdom don't attach yourself to those times, they were fun but now they are in the past, Live Now... thus

M. Ward

k, I've seen quite a bit about this artist the last few months, what threw me over the edge was a recommendation from my music buddy Jason, from the VT... So i took a closer look at M.Wards work, Man i'm glad i did! This is the sound i'm lookin for in a artist, someone who may not have the best voice but is just himself and lets it all come out, whatever he's feelin you know for sure thats coming thru the mic... Whats nice about it, is most of us can relate to what he writes about, and maybe if ya younger and haven't yet experienced love or lost and even better BOTH, then you will someday, oh yes you will... hopefully for your sake... I'm very foud of muscians like M.Ward and i'm glad jason hooked it up and showed me the light of the great work of M.Ward... Hope you all give him a shot and see if your feelin it.... Few Songs
All ya with a amazon account come listen to a few of the songs that got me Hooked.... 2 more for ya

This is what some other Artist think of Pattys' Music
"I can't think of a more beautiful singer and better songwriter alive today." -- Dave Matthews

"This is an incredible album. Patty Griffin can do no wrong." -- Kasey Chambers
"I remember listening to Patty sing her song 'Mary' during a stunning solo performance one night. It made me cry and that's always the truest test for me. Her voice alone is enough to rave about and then there are the songs! It blows my mind that Patty's not already famous." -- Lucinda Williams

Crystal Brandt

I've been doing some research for some talented female artist for all my female fans out there, i know i have been putting up mostly guys lately so its time to give the girls their Due... I was feeling this first artist quite a bit, Cystal Brandt likes to be up on stage by herself with just her guitar, reminds me of Jenny from Forest Gump.. Well check her out and give her some love... Posted by Hello www.crystalbrandt.com
1. Two Door Coupe- The vocals in this song get me... (Voter)
2. A little something- (Bessies Last Stand)
3. Watch what your saying ( Bessies Last Stand)
4. Know the way ( Bessies Last Stand)
5. Bottle Of wine " "

"Crystal has good musical styling, in the vein of Patty Griffin... Bessie's Last Stand is perfect to listen to after a long day or during one of those "drinking alone" nights. The album definitely caught my attention and got stuck in my head but, not in that annoying "I'm never going to be able to get to sleep" way... a good compilation of Crystal Brandt's expansive musical talent." - South of Mainstream, October 2003

The Faint

Oh uhhhh Ohhhh Erection! This next band is a little different from most of my past post, But hey I'm feeling it... I must be getting over my phase of feeling down in the dumps, I will miss that phase but hey when the stars say to move on you must follow... *astrology* So here we go I'm ready to roll....... The Faint Came about in 1994 with the help of Conar Oberst (bright eyes) they got invited to play a little music joint before they even had any songs put together, so they threw some songs together and made it for the show.. I guess you can say that was the beginning of this Unique band.. Their sound, think techno beat in the background and good vocals and you got the FAINT. I know all of us like a little Techno beat up in our head once in awhile, now you can have the beat with some Good lyrics. Example Glass DansePosted by Hello
Now come on you can feel that right??? the Beginning sounds sorta like Zombie Nation doesn't it??? The Web Site... www.thefaint.com
Few more songs to keep you rocking
1. I disappear
2. Call Call
3. Worked up Sexual

Bright Eyes

Ok so a few days ago i went out and bought quite a few CD's... And instead of opening them all up at once and listening to a few songs here and there... I opened one up each day and gave it a honest listen... The first few Cd's were pretty good, I'll need to put more time into them, But the last one , Oh the Last One ... What a GEM!!!...... Conar Oberst, The Center piece of Bright Eyes, really put together a great Cd >{ I'm wide awake, Its Morning..} Now Bright eyes has been putting out good CD's for quite sometime now and everyone will admit that Conar is truly a Genius at writing lovely sad songs.... Now i'll admit i have not been a huge bright eyes fan , Thats Until this last CD they just put out... Its one of those Cd's that is Great if you put it on in a relaxing atmosphere were you can chill and Read the lyrics.......Its one of those Cd's that you will have no trouble sitting down and listening to the whole Cd... i gotta say its one of the best CD's i have purchased in the last few months... He also released another CD that was put out at the same time as Wide Awake, But i'm yet to listen to it sooo i'll wait and write something up about that after i hear it.. But for this CD... Its a Must have....

And if i could i would like to take a quote from Tremble music review site... "For the last seven years, Bright Eyes has been synonymous with beautiful, epic lo-fi folk-rock masterpieces. However, Conor Oberst had yet to write a perfect album. It looks like he may have done it this time around, and it's no surprise to anyone. We knew he had it in him all the time. "

AIM away message...

This is a good away message, brings some wisdom to all of us out there...

"Don't bother trying to find fault in yourself or others, today, for nothing will come of it. It's past that. What's done is done. Now you must face your fear of being out of control, for that is what's really preventing your forward movement. You might have to accept your own power and let it take you for a ride. Remember that you cannot control the wave, but you can control your reaction to it. "

Wow some Bettcha Wisdom coming at ya! whats next? Shout out too Jamie on Some Aim Knowledge for yA wiggy wiggy wiggy!
